1. What medical problems do hilltribe members face?

Hilltribe members' access to good health care on a regular basis is limited by both their sheer distance from medical facilities and their poverty. Consequently, medical problems are often neglected to a point where they are amplified and even more dangerous. Some of the most common health problems include congenital birth defects (such as Harelip), severe mental retardation, and eye infection. Even in the cases where these conditions are not fatal, they seriously degrade quality of life and impair employment prospects.

2. How does the Mirror Art Group help?

Hilltribe members in crucial need of assistance approach the Mirror Art Group staff either at our facilities in Mae Yao or on our regular visits to villages. Grants are given according to need and availability of funds. This money is spent not only on the medical treatment itself, but also transportation costs, overnight accommodation and meals (if necessary), and travel papers for non-citizens.

4. How can YOU help?

In the past Mirror Art Group diverted funds from our general budget when medical emergencies for hilltribe members arose. With your ongoing support, however, we can maintain a separate fund specifically for these dire situations.
